It has been a decade since Handle With Care really got going in the Yukon. I feel very fortunate to have been a part of those first groups we did in Whitehorse. I am still connected to some of the first participants and they are still using the strategies we discussed so long ago!
I have found the Wishing Well activity to be a great way to conclude a group. It is a time to reflect on the strengths people have shared and an opportunity to share hopes and dreams about how they plan to use the knowledge from Handle with Care in their homes, workplaces, and communities. Many times, people realize they were already knowledgeable about many of the concepts we discussed and this opportunity to reflect allows them to make a plan (or a hope) for how they will consistently integrate the information into their daily routines.
